The Ironwolves are Mission Vista High School's robotics team that competes in the First Tech Challenge (FTC). Each year, teams from around the world are assigned a challenge, and they must design, build, test, and compete with their robot against other teams. The tasks in the challenges can range from lifting a cone onto a pole to making the entire robot do a 'pull-up' off the ground. More info on FTC can be found here.
During my time in this role, I wrote, tested, debugged, and taught nearly all of the code for the 2023-2024 year. Taught myself Qualcomm's FTC libraries from scratch and compiled a guide for the future software developers to make the work on them easier. Created an interactive website to make programming the autonomous section of the match sigificantly more simple. Pulled multiple all-nighters to finish coding the night before the matches. I still help the team out to this day when software issues appear.

Througout my time on the team, I designed, assembled, and fixed systems on the robot. When I focused more on coding the robot, I gave valuable insight to the other engineer on how we could manufacture the systems to be more efficient with the code I was developing. I also worked on coming up with better ways to blend the code into the physical design of the robot, choosing to work backward, starting at the software and ending at the hardware. This approach lead to great success, simplifying everyone's jobs.
